Psalm  5

Yahweh,
My king,
My deity,
This morning, our commitment to each other enables me to come to  your temple. I have done what I can to prepare for this, but, still, I cringe in  fear as I face your holy room.
I can now do nothing more than beg you to listen to my plea, to sympathize with my anguish, to respond to my cry for help.
     I look to you because
you are not pleased by those who violate your ways,
bad has no place with you,
the arrogant cannot stand when you look at them,
          you hate all the cruel,
          you destroy frauds,
          you abhor murderers and swindlers.
Please, Yahweh, take care of me in keeping with our relationship. Clear the obstacles from my way as I try to follow your path.
Others are trying to put me down, watching every step I take. Put them down!
The deceitful rot inside them comes up through their throat, stinking like a decomposing corpse, and is vomited through their sweet-talking mouths.
Divine One, treat them as they deserve! It’s not just me that  they are against. They are against you! Get rid of them! Then those who look to you for protection, those whom you can protect as a shield keeping enemies out
and pleasure in, will finally be happy, able to laugh in joy and to celebrate victory.
Yahweh, we count on you to give a good life to those who live as they should.
